RAFCV371: Test Pilots series cover dedicated to and signed by A.Scott Crossfield who served during WWII on the aircraft carrier Langley before becoming an Aeronautical Research pilot for NASA from 1955 to 1961 he was design specialist for the X-15 project and flew many test flights and indeed achieved the first mach 3 flight in the X-15 in 1960.
